BHAG Awards

In case you’re new here, let me introduce you to BHAG:

BHAG - Big Hairy Audacious GoalShe’s the Official Word Chef Mascot, here to keep me (and anyone else who’d like to use her iconic image) inspired to Think Bigger about our businesses, our lives and what we can accomplish.

By the way, BHAG stands for Big Hairy Audacious Goal. It’s not something I invented. But being a SMART goal kinda gal, the BHAG allows me a lot of room for creativity and vision.

And that’s exactly what I created for myself when I launched this biz with my Test Kitchen project.

BHAG has been so fun and inspirational (at least to me) that I’ve commissioned real life artists to create 3-D versions of her.  So far, I’ve got two plush prototypes sitting on my desk.  With two more in the works. It’s weird, because I haven’t been this excited about a toy in a very long time. (But I digress…)

Which got me thinking: I get SO inspired when I see other small biz folks pull off a BHAG of their own. I should totally use these as a gift or award to recognize the heck out of them.

I’m not sure yet how often I will award these — but I’d like your help in pointing out folks who you think might deserve one. Please send me your nominations via email, or the BHAG Word Chef Facebook page. I promise to take a close look at each and every one of them.

All awardees will receive a fabulous 3D BHAG of their very own.  Plus a certificate/badge they can display (or not) on their website and in the real world. And all awardees will be featured in a blog post here on Word Chef, which means additional sharing and recognition via Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and any other place I can think of.
